The City Center Vision Reaches Toward 2050 and Inspires Us to See the Possibilities of the Future
An interactive planning process has begun in Rauma to create the Rauma city center vision 2050. Throughout this autumn and winter, the vision will be shaped through a series of participatory events. Residents, business representatives, and elected officials are all invited to take part. These events aim to generate inspiring and engaging ideas for the future, which will serve as a foundation for developing Rauma into an even more vibrant and attractive city.
What is the City Center Vision?
Rauma’s city center vision 2050 is a strategic outlook on the future of Rauma’s city center and surrounding areas. The vision is based on the pillars defined in Rauma’s city strategy and supports the city’s reputation-building and long-term development. It explores opportunities for growth and identifies key themes for the future, providing a consistent foundation for further planning.
Future Festival at Karin Kampus November 27
The Future Festival for all residents will take place in Rauma at the heart of Karin Kampus, on Thursday, November 27, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM. The event is free of charge, and you’re welcome to stop by briefly or stay for the entire evening. There will be activities and programs for all ages throughout the event.
Program includes:
- Future Tables – Share your vision of what kind of future should be built for Rauma! These roundtable workshops will focus on different themes. Location: Round tables in the central lobby.
- Future Wall – Leave your mark on the future! Add your vision of Rauma’s future to the wall. You can participate even just in passing. Location: Wall area near the cashier and café.
- Art Workshop for Children – Create your own artwork showing what the future of Rauma looks like! Location: Round tables in the central lobby.
- Info Session – What is Rauma’s City Center Vision 2025? Location: Room 1.
The festival will also feature futuristic festival food to delight your taste buds, and live music provided by the Rauma Music Institute to set the mood for the future.

Implementation of the City Center Vision
In spring 2025, a two-stage competition was held to select a consultant for the implementation of the city center vision. The winning team led by Arkkitehdit Tommila Oy and included Nomaji maisema-arkkitehdit Oy, interaction expert Urban Practice Oy, and traffic planner expert Seppo Karppinen.
The preparation of the Rauma city center vision 2050 will begin in the autumn of 2025 and will be completed in April 2026 according to the target schedule.
