The City Center Vision Reaches Toward 2050 and Inspires Us to See the Possibilities of the Future
The year-long process is now in its final stages and will be published in autumn 2026. Rauma City Center Vision 2050 has been developed through extensive interaction and collaboration, involving a wide range of local residents and stakeholders.
The City of Rauma would already like to thank everyone who has contributed to the process and encourage all residents and organisations to take part in bringing the vision to life. As one participant put it: “Why wait until 2050?” The work of building the future starts now.
What is the City Center Vision?
Rauma City Center Vision 2050 is a strategic outlook on the future of Rauma’s city center and surrounding areas. The vision is based on the pillars defined in Rauma’s city strategy and supports the city’s reputation-building and long-term development. It explores opportunities for growth and identifies key themes for the future, providing a consistent foundation for further planning.

Implementation of the City Center Vision
In spring 2025, a two-stage competition was held to select a consultant for the implementation of the city center vision. The winning team led by Arkkitehdit Tommila Oy and included Nomaji maisema-arkkitehdit Oy, interaction expert Urban Practice Oy, and traffic planner expert Seppo Karppinen.
The preparation of the Rauma City Center Vision 2050 began in the autumn of 2025 and will be completed in autumn 2026.
