Come and Share Your Ideas for Rauma’s Future at the Vision Workshop on March 5
News

Rauma is currently undertaking interactive planning work, through which the city center vision for 2050 is being developed. A vision workshop open to everyone will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Rauma Theatre, located at Alfredinkatu 2. You may arrive and leave the workshop flexibly, according to your own schedule.
What will Rauma’s city center be like in 2050? What would you like it to be like? And how can we achieve the city of our dreams?
– At the workshop, residents can comment on the draft vision and share their own wishes and development ideas. Participation is also possible in English. Free coffee and a sweet treat will be offered to the first 70 participants, says architect Leena Joki-Korpela.
The Goal is a Shared Vision
Rauma’s city center vision for 2050 presents an overall picture of how the vitality of the city center and the entire city can be strengthened in the long term. The vision has been developed through broad collaboration with various stakeholders and city residents.
So far, views have been gathered from decision-makers, the Council for the Elderly, the Council for the Disabled, students, city center entrepreneurs, and residents through future festivals and an open online survey.
– The vision workshop is another event open to all residents as part of the city center vision work. The future festivals held at the Karin kampus in November 2025 were very well received. The March workshop is suitable both for those who participated previously and for first-time participants, says Joki-Korpela.
Rauma’s city center vision for 2050 is a strategic outlook on the future of the city center and its surrounding areas. It is based on the city strategy and supports the strengthening of Rauma’s vitality, reputation, and long-term development.
