The City of Rauma is preparing a planning reservation for RTK-Palvelu Oy in the Yrittäjäinvahe area
Uutinen

On June 22, 2026, the Rauma City Council will consider a planning reservation that will enable the design of new premises for RTK-Palvelu Oy near the harbor in the Yrittäjäinvahe area. The area to be reserved is approximately two hectares in size; the exact extent of the area will be specified as the zoning process progresses.
The planning reservation is a tool for the early stages of the project that supports further planning in collaboration with the City of Rauma. The reservation allows for a more detailed assessment of the area’s suitability, the conduct of necessary studies, and the orderly preparation of a local plan amendment.
– It’s great that Rauma is attracting growing companies and that we can work together to promote new investments. The planning reservation is an important step that enables careful preparation of the project and the long-term development of the area, says Ari-Pekka Asikainen, Land Use Manager for the City of Rauma.
The project is also driven by long-term land-use changes. One of RTK-Palvelu Oy’s current facilities is located in an area that will undergo street layout changes related to the future development of Järviluoto, as well as a potential rail connection. This creates a need to design new office facilities. At the same time, the project supports the company’s growth and the development of its operations.
– Rauma is an important operating environment for us, and we want to develop our operations with a long-term perspective. Designing new facilities will enable more efficient and modern solutions and support our growth objectives, says Samuli Eskola, CEO of RTK Palvelu Oy.
The planning reservation does not yet bind the city to the final transfer of the plot but reserves the area for a fixed period for the project’s planning. The reservation would remain in effect until the end of 2027. As the project progresses, decisions regarding the zoning plan, implementation, and the specific terms of the plot transfer will be made separately.
The project supports the development of Rauma’s business areas and strengthens the city’s vitality.
