Open Early Childhood Education

Open early childhood education includes family activities, early childhood clubs and summer playground activities.

Open early childhood education services are for families who are not covered by other early childhood education services.

Shift Care

During a guardian’s shift work or studies, the child is cared for in the evening, at night or at the weekend. If the need is low, the child’s early childhood education is provided at a normal daycare center or family daycare, and when the need arises, at a round-the-clock daycare center.

To obtain a place in a round-the-clock daycare center, both parents must present a certificate from their employer confirming that they work shift work or from their educational establishment confirming that they study during evenings and/or weekends.

Shift care in Rauma is centralised at Papinpelto Daycare Center. There is also morning and evening care at Myllytonttu Daycare Center in Lappi from Monday to Friday from 5.30 to 22.30.

Papinpellon vuoropäiväkoti is open 24/7 and provides day care places for children who need day care at nights and weekends.
The need for extended day care times need to be regular.

Myllytonttu Daycare Center

Myllytonttu day care center

Myllytonttu Daycare Centre is a municipal daycare centre operated by the City of Rauma. The centre has four early childhood education groups and provides places for both children under and over three years of age. The daycare centre has a planned capacity of 77 places, although the actual number of children varies depending on the age distribution.

Myllytonttu Daycare Centre is located in Lappi, Rauma, and offers early childhood education from Monday to Friday between 6:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Preschool education is provided at Lappi School, where complementary early childhood education for preschool children is also available from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
