Youth Centre Viklo

Viklo, a youth centre on the Kari’s kampus, is open from Monday 7 September at 3 pm and will be open from Monday to Wednesday, 3 pm to 8 pm, for pupils in Year 7 up to the age of 17. Pupils in Years 5 and 6 are welcome between 3 pm and 5 pm.

Viklo is located to the left of the main entrance to the Karin Kampus, with its own entrance. It can also be accessed via the internal passageway near the main lobby. The youth centre is a shoe-free area, i.e. outdoor shoes should be left in the vestibule.

In the new space, you can play pool, board games and do arts and crafts. Playstation 5 and Nintendo Switch game consoles are also available. The space is equipped with a kitchen island where young people can cook or bake with a tutor. Two youth leaders are on site every evening.

Young people can participate in organising activity nights themselves, or ask the leaders to do something related to a specific theme or a general theme. However, you don’t have to take part in anything if you don’t want to. You can always come to Viklo to stay and spend time, make new friends or even wait for a hobby to start.

Youth Centre Kuovi

Open evenings are held at the Kuovi youth center under the guidance of Rauma city’s youth services. Kuovi is open two evenings a week, on Fridays and Saturdays, for 7th graders up to 17-year-olds from 5 PM to 10 PM. 6th graders are welcome from 5 PM to 7 PM.

The youth leaders are there for the young people; talking and playing games with them. You’ll find lots of different things to do.

At Kuovi, everyone follows a set of common rules to ensure that every young person has a comfortable and safe stay. Lounging on the sofas, charging your phone and hanging out with friends are good ways to spend time at the youth centre. As well as board games and Playstation 5, you’ll also find two full-size pool tables and ping-pong table, and a bouldering wall (bouldering is a low, harness-free climbing wall with cushioning pads underneath).

Kuovi also has a band shack with electric drums, electric guitars and electric bass, some acoustic guitars and keyboards.

Mobile youth work

Tauno, the mobile youth outreach service, offers young people a safe place to meet with youth workers on Fridays in September from 5 pm to 10 pm. The last Tauno evening of the autumn is on 26 September.

Rental of premises

The premises are rented out to people over 18 for recreational and meeting activities of various clubs and associations, as well as for private use.
