The next Seniors’ Culture Weeks will be held in Rauma 28.9.–18.10.2026.
On these pages, we have compiled a list of events you can attend even if you don’t speak Finnish.

Tue 29.9. at 18: Music night Armas! at Karin kampus
Music inspired by the poems of Eino Leino, from different styles and decades.
Eino Leino was a Finnish poet and journalist who is considered one of the pioneers of Finnish poetry.

Wed 30.9. at 14–15.30: Ikinuorten Iirolandia – Sporting event for seniors at Winter training hall
Ikinuorten Iirolandia is a sports event aimed at seniors and adults of all ages.
Iirolandia features a variety of activity stations where instructors provide guidance and participate in the activities. These include a balance station, various games, and exercises to improve motor skills and mobility.

During the fall of 2026, Ikinuorten Iirolandia will be held every other Wednesday.

Fri 2.10. at 18.30: Pori Sinfonietta on the Road! -concert at Karin kampus
Pori Sinfonietta will tour Kankaanpää and Rauma during the autumn season with the full orchestra. The tour spotlights the orchestra’s trumpeter Pedro Dantas Silva, who will perform Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto as soloist.
The concert opens with Sibelius’s ever-beautiful Valse triste. The programme also includes Suite Ancienne (Suite in the Old Style) by the Norwegian composer Johan Halvorsen, originally composed for a theatre production. The work includes both serenades and movements inspired by Baroque dances.

Fri 9.10 at 19: Wasa Consort -concert at The Church of the Holy Cross
The Vaasa-based viola da gamba ensemble, Wasa Consort, will perform alongside a baroque harp. Our program features English and French music from the 17th century.

Tue 13.10. at 13–15: Senioridisco at Karin kampus
The disco ball sparkles and the colored lights flash at the senior disco on the Kari campus as DJ Börje gets the Rauma disco crowd dancing. He skillfully spins disco classics from the ’60s through the ’80s on vinyl records, while also emceeing and dancing along.
The dance style is free-form, and you’re more than welcome to just come to this senior disco to watch and enjoy the music and the atmosphere. The Kari Campus is accessible and has plenty of space, even if you’re using a wheelchair or a walker. There are chairs in the hall for when you need a quick break.
Come dance and have a good time! You’re also welcome to invite your friends and loved ones to join the disco, regardless of their age.

Tue 13.10. at 19: Soulmaidens – A Mythical Drama of Desire opera at Rauma Hall
Starring soprano Tuuli Lindeberg, *Sieluttaret*—which combines the most beautiful Baroque music with contemporary puppet theater—is co-directed by Siljamari Heikinheimo and puppeteer Niina Lindroos. In addition to the Finnish Baroque Orchestra, the story is brought to life by four vocal soloists and three puppeteers.
The performance is recommended for ages 10 and up. The performance is in Italian, with Finnish translations displayed as subtitles. Duration: 1 hour, no intermission.

Wed 14.10. at 14–15.15: Seniors’ Cultural Weeks Matinee at Karin kampus
Seniorisoittajat, JatsiJannut and Senioriopettajat and Maria will sing and play cheerful tunes. The richness of the Finnish language in the art of words will be interpreted at the event by Värsym baohajat.

A Space Full of Light – an immersive exhibition in Tarvonsaari
The exhibition brings together playful, interactive environments with more intimate works, topped off by an immersive, communal installation. The exhibition unfolds as a journey, its diverse spaces and artworks seamlessly interconnected by a soundscape that weaves
throughout the experience. Visitors are invited to dwell in the spaces, attune to the artworks, and sharpen their senses.
