The Rauma Theater School’s basic theater arts education is goal-oriented, progressive theater and expressive arts education for children and young people. The teaching is diverse and provided by theater professionals. The theater school’s studies total 500 hours, which can be completed in about seven years. The theater arts studies develop self-expression, concentration, creativity, personality, consideration for others, and the ability to observe oneself and the surrounding world.
Most of the teaching and work takes place on the Karin campus. Some performances can also be staged at various events, bringing the theater to where the people are.

To apply for the theater school, please sign up for the application queue, which opens on May 2, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. (Link coming soon).
The application period is May 2–August 13, 2026.
You can also inquire about available places in all groups during the semester from the theater teacher.
Continued registration
Students already enrolled in the theater school will receive an email in the spring with a registration link where they can select their course for the next academic year.
Courses are selected in order. If you were in the Theater School’s 2. yr course this year, you will be selected for the Theater School’s 3. yr course for the next academic year, and so on.
You must also notify the school as soon as possible if you are taking a gap year or leaving the school.
Theatre school courses
2025-2026
The fall semester begins on Monday, August 18, 2025.
The fall break is October 20–24 (week 43).
The fall semester ends on Thursday, December 11.
The spring semester begins on Monday, January 12, 2026.
Winter break is February 16–20 (week 8).
There will be no classes on April 30 (May Day Eve), April 2 (Maundy Thursday), or April 6 (Easter Monday).
The spring semester ends on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
