Upstairs at the Rauma Art Museum, at the heart of Pinnala, we have compiled a selection of highlights from the museum’s art collection. A selection of 68 works by 68 artists has been chosen from a collection of about 3,500 works.
The collection exhibitions consists of Eino Valtonen’s donated collection, and the City of Rauma’s and the Art Museum’s contemporary art collections. The Valtonen collection includes works by artists from the golden age of Finnish art, alongside which the exhibition shows works from Rauma’s visual artists ja related themes and topics. The oldest works date back to the 19th century, while the newest was completed and acquired last year. The exhibition includes artists such as Akseli Gallen-Kallela, Pekka Halonen, Kerttu Horila, Jaakko Niemelä and Paavo Paunu.
