Paavo Paunu: Seven Seas and Eight Tears
Paavo Paunu is a painter and sculptor whose works transcend the boundaries between different media. The exhibition at the Rauma Art Museum presents works from the 1990s to the present day, including new pieces.

The Heart of Pinnala
On the upper floor of the Rauma Art Museum, at the heart of Pinnala, we have collected the gems of the City of Rauma’s art collection. The exhibition presents 68 works from 68 artists.

Maija Annikki Savolainen
Upcoming: 23.10.2026 – 4.4.2027
Maija Annikki Savolainen is a photography artist and doctoral researcher born in Turku in 1980 who combines women’s sailing culture with concerns about the harmful algae bloom problem in the Baltic Sea in her work.
Savolainen’s work is research-based and involves multiple media. In her works, she combines biology, photography, and her own hobby, sailing. Her upcoming multimedia exhibition is a combination of documentary photographic art, graphic art, and object installations.

Rauma Triennale
Rauma Triennale has its roots in the Rauma Biennale Balticum in the Baltic Sea Region, organised by the Rauma Art Museum between 1977 and 2016. The Rauma Triennale has been organised since 2019. The next Rauma Triennale will take place in 2028.

The Story of Rauma Lace
Immerse yourself in the world of Rauma bobbin lace, from the past to the present day. The exhibition features lace treasures, memories from the museum’s collections, and introduces local lace makers.

Gentlements’ Amusements
The exhibition introduces the cultural history of tobacco from the 18th century to the 1940s. On display are tobacco-related objects from the period, as well as a gentleman’s room where tobacco use was an integral part of everyday bourgeois life.

Let’s Get Married!
The exhibition takes you into the world of wedding traditions from the 19th century to the 1990s. On display are local wedding memories, treasures from the museum’s collections, and stories of traditions that have been passed down through the centuries.

Coming to the Old Town Hall
Construction of the Permanent Exhibition Begins
The extensive restoration of the Rauma Old Town Hall has been completed, and a new permanent exhibition is currently being built in the premises. In the future, visitors will be able to explore an exhibition on the history of Rauma as well as a World Heritage visitor centre.
