Rauma will be envisioning the future from many perspectives during the fall and coming winter. First, the residents of Rauma and those interested in Rauma’s affairs will have the opportunity to influence the city’s priorities for the coming years. Views and ideas for the city strategy extending to 2030 are being sought in a strategy survey opening on November 10. During the autumn, there will be an opportunity to participate in even more far-reaching planning when city residents and stakeholders are invited to open workshops to draw up a vision for the city center extending to 2050.

The city strategy is renewed at the beginning of each council term, as each council sets its own goals and draws up a strategy based on them. The three key objectives of the current strategy, a vibrant, attractive, and influential Rauma, will remain the cornerstones of the strategy, and the strategy work will focus on defining development priorities and concrete objectives and measures to achieve these goals. Views and ideas will be collected from residents and stakeholders through an electronic survey, which will be open until November 30.

Rauma’s strong, influential, dynamic, and enchanting city strategy has been a powerful guide in recent years. However, many of the strategic objectives have already been achieved or are well on their way to being achieved, and the operating environment has also changed in four years. Therefore, it is time to look ahead and define the next common goals.

“The strategy is the city’s most important plan. It sets the direction for development and guides decision-making and service production. That is why every resident of Rauma and anyone interested in Rauma’s affairs should respond to the survey,” encourages Mayor Esko Poikela.

The survey offers an opportunity to influence how Rauma will grow and develop in the coming years. The survey covers various themes, including increasing retention, strengthening vitality, increasing visibility, and Rauma’s strengths and areas for development.

“We want to get as many views as possible on how Rauma will be seen in the future and what areas should be focused on,” says Sari Salo, the business area director who is guiding the strategy work.

The survey can be completed at www.rauma.fi or by filling out a paper form available at the Pyyrman Service Point, located at Valtakatu 2 A, Rauma. The survey takes about 5-10 minutes to complete. Ten Rauma product bags will be raffled off among the respondents.
