A renewed Old Town Hall will open in October 2026. Rauma Museum has been located in Old Town Hall since 1902. The late baroque style building was completed in 1776. The ground floor originally housed the police station, while the upper floor served as the city administration. There are only two 18th-century town halls in Finland that have been preserved in their original form: one in Rauma and one in Porvoo.
At Rauma Old Town Hall, you will now find an exhibition on the history of Rauma as well as a World Heritage Visitor Center. The exhibition at the Visitor Center showcases Rauma’s two UNESCO World Heritage sites: Old Rauma and Sammallahdenmäki.

New exhibitions
Rauma, since 1442.
The new exhibition tells you about the history of Rauma and the people living in the city. You will learn about the sorrows and happiness of the citizens. How they survived hardships, built the city we now love while raising their families, enjoying life and working towards a better future.
