Rauma Lace Week events will cause changes to traffic arrangements in the city centre from 24.7.

Rauma Lace Week will affect traffic arrangements in the Rauma city centre from Monday 24.7. The construction of the event areas will close streets to vehicular traffic in the city centre, affect parking and move the location of local transport stops. During the event, only essential maintenance traffic and access to properties will be allowed on the closed streets.

The International Grand Market is being built in the city centre

The market area of the International Grand Market will open to the public on Wednesday 26.7. at 10 am. Construction of the area will begin on Monday 24.7. The parking spaces on Pakkahuoneenkatu will be removed and the local transport stops will be moved from Savilankatu to Pakkahuoneenkatu.

The market area in the city centre will be closed to traffic on Tuesday 25.7. The section of the street between Vänninkatu and Pakkahuoneenkatu from Nortamonkatu will be closed. There will also be booms supervised by traffic controllers on Valtakatu at the junction of Tehtaankatu and Valtakatu and on Kalliokatu at the junction of Lyseokatu and Kalliokatu. Kanavakatu will be closed to traffic from Kanalinranta to the junction of Lyseokatu.

Savilankatu will be closed to traffic between Pakkahuoneenkatu and Kuninkaankatu. The express bus stop on Nortamonkatu will be out of service for the duration of the market. The Savilanpuisto taxi rank will operate normally throughout the entire Lace Week.

Maintenance operations must be carried out between 25 and 29 July in the mornings before 10 a.m. Emergency and maintenance roads will be kept open on all closed sections of the street.

Black Lace Night closes more streets on 28 July

More streets will be closed to traffic on Black Lace Night on Friday 28.7. These arrangements will ensure that visitors to the event can move around the area.

Parking is available outside the city centre, for example in the courtyard of the Kari’s school, which serves as a temporary parking area. A temporary bike park for the event is located on Valtakatu near the Tehtaankatu junction.

Walking street time will continue in Old Rauma during the Lace Week. Business owners and residents in the pedestrian zone are allowed to drive on the properties with a driving permit. Maintenance driving is also permitted. Driving permits for the Old Rauma area are issued by Service Point Pyyrman at Valtakatu 2A.

The traffic arrangements for the lace week will be lifted by Monday 31 July.
