Rauma healthcare services will start giving Novavax Nuvaxovid Covid-19 vaccine to people aged 18 years and older as the first and second doses of the vaccine.
The vaccine is recommended for people who cannot be given the mRNA or adenovirus vector vaccine. It can also be given to other people over the age of 18 who want this vaccine instead of other vaccines. At least for now, the vaccine will not be given as a third or fourth dose.
– Nuvaxovid is a new type of Covid-19 vaccine. It is more like traditional vaccines than mRna and adenovirus vaccines. However, it also does not contain pathogens, vaccination coordinator Marja Lehtimäki says.
People living in Rauma can make an appointment for Nuvaxovid vaccination by calling tel. +385 44 403 2687 from Tuesday to Thursday from 10 AM to 12 PM. Nuvaxovid vaccinations are given only one day a week and with an appointment.
The availability of Novavax Nuvaxovid is currently limited.
