Rauma Day is celebrated from the 16th to the 18th of April

Rauma will reach the age of 579 on Saturday 17th of April 2021. Due to the corona situation, the Rauma Day program is implemented outdoors as inspiring raptures and as online content. The online content will be available on the city’s YouTube channel from Friday, April 16th. Please note: all content and information is only in Finnish.

City Sports Services is encouraging to spend time outdoors. Rauma-themed products are hidden in the city center from 16th to 17th of April. The locations of the hiding places are published in the story section of Rauma Sports Services’ Instagram account (raumanliikuntapalvelut) on April 16. The product found in the hide can be taken as your own. It is desirable for everyone to look for just one hiding place so that there will be surprises for as many people as possible.

Geocaches can be searched around the city hall

On the weekend of Rauma Day, four training geocaches will be hidden around the city hall. Geocaching is a hobby for the whole family and there are more than a thousand geocaches in the Rauma area. Caches can be safely searched among your family or friends even during the corona times.

The geocaching map and lottery ticket can be printed here (pdf, in Finnish).

Cachers can participate in the Rauma-themed product lottery by returning the lottery ticket to Service Point Pyyrman’s mailbox, address Valtakatu 2 A.

The video tour leads to the early history of the city

The 360 ° video is presenting the early history of the city in the Old Town Hall Museum. The video allows you to see the exhibitions and the town hall as a video from many directions. The video introduces the City of Rauma’s founding document, i.e. the letter of privilege, the seal and coat of arms of the City of Rauma and the Pyyrman drum.

Old Rauma and Rauma nature as the themes of the concert recordings

The youngest pianist students of the Rauma Music College and the poet Nina Rintala will perform in the illustrated concerts recorded in the Rauma Hall. The themes of the concerts are Old Rauma and Rauma nature. The Rauma – Words, Pictures and Tones concerts feature a diverse selection of familiar works performed by pianist students, as well as Nina Rintala’s poems on nature and Rauma. The concert recordings will be released on the city’s YouTube channel on Friday, April 16th.
