Rauma Pride event to be organised by volunteers – the city involves young people in joint activities

Rauma Youth Services launched Rainbow Evenings for young people in the spring. During the evenings, the idea of a Pride picnic was born. The topic attracted a lot of interest, and the idea of a small-scale event turned into a Pride parade on Saturday 1 July.

The City of Rauma is not organising the Pride march, but a working group of volunteers is responsible for its implementation. The group is currently looking for interested participants.

– It is great that Rauma Pride has attracted attention and interest from Rauma citizens of all ages. The Youth Services support and involve young people interested in the event, but it is organised by volunteers,” says Rea Poikonen, Head of Youth Services.

Anyone interested in organising Rauma Pride can sign up by emailing the volunteers at rauma.pride@outlook.com.

Young people who have taken part in the Rainbow Nights will meet on Tuesday 13 June from 13-15 at Kuovi Youth Centre to discuss the possibilities of participating in Pride. The event is open to all young people under 29 who are interested in the topic.
