Rauma Day 17.4.2024

Rauma Day will be celebrated with a variety of events for more than a week.

9.–17.4. Taidelainaamo 20 years anniversary exhibition at Vanha opisto (Vähäkoulukatu 8). Open: weekdays 12–18, Thursday closed, Sat-Sun 11–15. On the first day 9.4. the exhibition is open 14–18. Free admission.

Monday 15.4. 18.00 Mixed choir Lapponia spring concert in the church of Lappi (Kirkkotie 23). Free admission.

Tuesday 16.4. 14.3018.00 Treasure hunt in Old Rauma for young people aged 11-19! The starting point is in front of the tourist information center (Savilankatu 8). You can start the race from the starting point between 14:30 and 17:00, and the event ends by 18:00. The race is participated in pairs, and the winners will receive tickets for a trip to Särkänniemi! The event is organized by Rauma Youth Services.

Wednesday 17.4. 9–11.30 Opekas ry organizes fun activities for children in Kipparinpuisto (Vähämaanpuisto 7). The traffic park is also open. The event is organized by Rauma Cultural Services.

Wednesday 17.4. Free admission to the City of Rauma’s museums Marela (Kauppakatu 24) and the Art Museum Verstas space (Kuninkaankatu 37). Marela is open 12–19 and the Verstas space of the Art Museum 12–17. At the Art Museum, artist Liza Grobler will be presenting her work and talk about her art from 12 to 16.

Wednesday 17.4. 12–16 Free admission to Rauma Maritime Museum (Kalliokatu 34).

Wednesday 17.4. 15–19 Guided tours of Rauma City Council Chamber. The tours explore the renovation of the Council Chamber, completed in 2023, the history and art of the building. Departure from the City Hall lobby (Kanalinranta 3). Tours depart every 15 minutes and each tour can accommodate 20 people. No advance reservations, seats are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The first tour in Finnish leaves at 15:00 and the last at 19:00. Tours in English will take place at 15:00 and 16:30. The event is organized by Rauma Cultural Services.

Wednesday 17.4. 17:00 Terhokerho Club at Cafe Perhekeskus (Nortamonkatu 30). Terhokerho clubs are meeting places for all generations, and everyone is welcome. Activities include playing with toys, art and crafts, or just relaxing and chatting. Free admission. The event is organised by MLL Rauma.

Wednesday 17.4. 17–19 Open Doors Day at Kari School (Savilankatu 5). Welcome to reminisce about past school days and to get acquainted with the modern-day school. At 17:00, there will be a reminiscence session with old photographs in the school cafeteria, with the participation of Rauma Museum. Principal Tanja Nurmi and other school staff will be present. Coffee will be served.

Fri-Sat 19.–20.4. Art & Tasting event in cafes and restaurants. Art & Tasting event weekend offers memorable art experiences and innovative cultural encounters in restaurants, cafes, bars, and similar venues in Rauma. The idea is to bring together players from the cultural and restaurant industries to provide customers with cultural experiences in places where they are not normally available.

Saturday 20.4. 10–13 Big Machines family event at Parpansali (Kanavakatu 15), also featuring children’s band Mimmit at 11:00. Free admission. The event is organised by Rauma Cultural Services.

Saturday 20.4. 10–13 Open Doors Day at Rauma Music Institute (Nortamonkatu 5). Come to explore and try out different instruments and meet the music school teachers. Free admission. The event is organized by Rauma Music Institute.

Saturday 20.4. 11–14 Children’s Saturday at the Maritime Museum (Kalliokatu 34). The theme of the day is animals both on ships and in ports.

Saturday 20.4. 16–17 Sea Monsters: the Naval Band on a voyage of discovery concert in Rauma Hall (Satamakatu 26). The concert is aimed at families with children. Tickets for the concert are sold by Lippu.fi: adults 13 €, children aged 3–15 5 €. More information about the concert can be found here >>>

Sunday 21.4. 10–14 Rauman Latu’s nature trail excursion to Latumaja. You can start either from the Metsätähdentie (6 km), or from the parking lot at Pohjoiskehä (4 km). Latumaja is open to hikers 10–14 and you can buy refreshments, coffee and buns for a small change or mobilepay. The map of the trail can be found here >>> 

Sunday 21.4. 1015 Big Market Days at Rauma Kauppatori. The Market Days bring traditional market spirit to the centres of towns and villages! More than 20 traders are coming to Rauma. The event is organised by Suomen Tapahtumatrio Oy.
